Winter Solstice Candle Ritual

EDIT: Just a little addition, see below

.

“Hate is always foolish, and love is always wise.”

Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor on Doctor Who

.

This is a ritual I wrote for the Winter Solstice/ Alban Arthuan:

.

Winter Solstice Candle Ritual

.

The altar can be set to your tradition or just “bare bones” if you are still in the broom closet.

.

Items Required:

.

1 yellow (for peace) candle

.

1 blue (for healing) or white candle

.

As you light them envision your sacred space free of hate and full of healing.

.

As you light the yellow candle say “This candle is for peace. For peace within and around me.”

.
As you light the blue or white candle say “This candle is for healing. For healing within and around me.”

.

Gracious Gods, I beseech you. Dagda, the good god, please hear my prayers. Brigit, goddess of poetic inspiration and healing hear my prayers. I ask of you both to banish hatred in all its ugly forms and to heal those who have been injured mortally and grievously by it. Let the victims know that they are not alone. And remind them that if they enact a form hatred themselves then the assailants have won. Help them to rise above the pettiness and be an example to their friends, family and neighbors.
